On 18 June County Governor of Dalarna, Sweden Mrs Maria Norrfalk inaugurated Grycksbo Paper’s latest environmental investment, the new biofuel boiler. With an investment of 130 MSEK Grycksbo Paper leaves oil behind as an energy source and takes yet another step towards its vision; “No one greener”.
“This investment is an excellent example of words becoming actions” County Governor of Dalarna Maria Norrfalk said in her inauguration speech. “It is about a true energy change-over, from fossil to renewable sources. The owners of the mill are clearly demonstrating their commitment to creating a reduced environmental impact though switching to a sustainable energy source.”
“A fundamental part of our vision for Grycksbo Paper is “No one greener”. Our aim is to produce our paper in the most environmentally sound way and we work hard to achieve this objective.” Mikael Frölander MD Grycksbo Paper said in his speech. “G-Print is FSC certified, our emissions are very low and our new distribution system reduces carbon dioxide emissions by more than 30 percent compared to our previous system”.
“Our environmental work is an important part of our brand”, Mikael Frölander continued. “Our customers know that they will be able to continue to trust our paper to be one of the best choices on the market with regard to the environment as well as for its high quality”.
“This investment shows that we are committed to our environmental vision. With the new biofuel boiler in operation we have left oil behind as an energy source and our energy requirements are now totally fulfilled through the use of renewable sources”.
The biofuel boiler replaces the previous oil boiler and allows a more sustainable production, both from an environmental and an economical point of view. The investment comprises the new boiler, equipment to handle the biofuel, and a smoke gas cleaning filter, as well as the renovation of a turbine for the production of green electricity.
