Grycksbo Paper has been shortlisted in three different categories in the 2009 Pulp & Paper International (PPI) Awards. The awards will take place in Munich on the 28th October. The nominations are in the following categories: Business Strategy of the Year, Promotional / Sales / Marketing Campaign of the Year and the Environmental Strategy of the Year. The PPI Awards are the only global awards dedicated to recognising achievements in the pulp and paper industry.
The inaugural PPI Awards will honour leadership, vision, innovation and strategic accomplishments of companies, mills and individuals within the sector.
“Since Grycksbo Paper was acquired from Stora Enso in 2006 a lot has happened”, says Mikael Frölander, MD of Grycksbo Paper. “We have a new strategy, established a modern and tailor-made sales and marketing organisation and introduced a more efficient and environmentally improved distribution system. Recently we invested 130 million SEK in a biomass boiler, making us independent of oil as an energy source. Importantly we have become much closer to our customers”.
“We’ve been thrilled with the high quality and number of entries for the first ever PPI Awards, says Mark Rushton, Editor of PPI. The finalists should be justly proud of their achievements. Not only does the PPI Awards event allow us to honour the best in business but it will also offer fantastic networking opportunities for those who attend.”
“It is very encouraging that Grycksbo Paper has been shortlisted in three categories of 2009 PPI Awards. No one has been nominated in more than three categories and to us that is a confirmation that our work to improve all aspects of the company and its services has been noticed internationally”, Mikael Frölander ends.
